  • Hello Chou-Tac!
I’m Nicolás, a 20 year-old Industrial Design student from Argentina. I love to sketch everyday, and i know how important it is in order to communicate your ideas. I found your guide quite interesting and easy to understand! I feel I’m getting better at this everyday. Now I can share my drawings with more confidence. Thank you very much for sharing your tips! 😀

Oh, I almost forgot! Do you have a Spanish version of the guide?

  • Hello Chou-Tac,

I’m a spanish engineer (with a masters degree in mechanical engineering), and although I am accomplished in CAD and all things related to manufacturing and stress testing I always lacked the ability to turn my prototype ideas into sketches that would inspire and transmit what was in my head.

I poured every ounce of energy into my technical abilities so…art was never nurtured nor cared for…But I believe that with your guidance and my stubborness I can some day create decent prototype sketches, or at least sketches that inspire something more than laughter to those looking at them =/

Thanks a lot for sharing all this.

    • Hello Alvaro,

Laughter are not an issue. To avoid people laugh at any of your sketches whatever level it is, convince them through your idea and story. People who worth hear your ideas will listen to you, other people who won’t are not worth the effort. Carry on learning and improving, you will do great. 🙂

  • Hey, I’m from Colombia,
Currently I’m on the University, majoring on Industrial Design. On my Every day life, i need to sketch a lot of projects, so i hope this could help me to improve my sketches.
and Btw, Thank you a lot!

    Have a nice week

  • Hiya, my name is Ruth and I’m from London.
I currently work in retail in customer services but would love to work in the art industry as an illustrator. I’m starting quite late in life (in my thirties), so I’m trying to learn all the basic fundamentals (or at the very least get a good grasp of them) as quickly as possible. I know I have a lot of catching up to do and a long way to go, but the journey should be fun. 🙂

    • Hello Ruth,

As an Illustrator remember that technique is one thing, but most important people will enjoy your own personality, your style. What story do you to tell to them ? This is what will make you unique and memorable. An illustrator I like a lot is http://www.celiacalle.com/ she has done illustration for Fashion magazine and also Marvel comics cover keeping her own style !

There is multiple path to become an Illustrator, but that path is to me the one which is the most fun. See what you like :).

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • Hi! I’m Hamidreza from Iran and I’m an architect.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi! My name is Alexandra and i’m from Romania. I’m 18 and still uncertain about my future. For many years I was impressed by the skills manga makers have and i’m also interested in design. I tried to develop my skills years ago but gave up as there was no one to teach me. I’m happy that I found this now. Let’s get started!^^

    • Yeah, enjoy Alexandra ! : D

I also starter with animation and Manga when I was teenagers. I think I gave up also many times, but we are passionate so we also come back to drawing !

  • Hi!! My name is Lerisha and I am from Maryland but I just moved to the West Coast in Arizona. I am currently studying Animation and Game Art Design!! =D I am looking to sharpen my drawing skills and master learning how to animate and create Game Art designs.

  • Hey hey, I am Katarina, industrial designer from Slovenia. Currently I am finishing my master degree and I decided to refresh my sketching skills. So let’s start! 🙂

  • Hey there I’m Gregory or Greg Hutnik. I am 17 and at DASH (Design and Architecture Senior High) pursuing my dream of being an industrial designer. I have been at this school for 3 years now and I am hoping I can learn a few new techniques from this. Hoping to get a physical copy of the book. Design district (Miami Florida) is a good place for this you get to see new things passing you buy and you get inspired so I sketch what I think; most of the time. It’s great I found this and excited to get something out of it

  • I’m from Sydney and I have never been very confident in sketching and drawing and would like to change that.
I look forward to starting your course.

  • Hello, Chou-Tac! My name is Agustina. I’m 21 yo and I’m from Argentina. I’m studying software engineering. I’m not a design student but I really want to learn to draw. I really do enjoy it but I’m stuck on my very basic and limited comfort zone and I want to get out of it. I’m a very metodic person and very self-critic so I find it really hard to just sketch whatever it’s in front on me. I’m always thinking: “but where do I begin?” “It’s okay like this?” “It doesn’t seem right”, and even if I do take time to practise I don’t really see improvements. BUT I’m really positive about your guide and I want to say THANK YOU 🙂 really. It seems like a good start for begginers like me. Sorry if my English isn’t right and thank you again!! 😀

  • Hey there! I’m Jagruit from India. I currently stepped into the world of Independent video game development and found that it is very beneficial to plan out and conceptualize things before the development process begins. I have been good at sketching on paper, but that is the case only when I replicate stuff by seeing. I get a good perception just by that.

However, I fail when trying to draw something from my imagination. I just don’t produce the precise results, and I am not good with straight lines and curves in freehand. Furthermore, this amplifies when I try to draw stuff on Autodesk Sketchbook using my graphics tablet. I need to master this because I want to step into the digital realm of artworks and it’ll be beneficial if I create digital concepts for the video games.

I came across a tip relating to Autodesk sketchbook about setting up a high resolution file in Sketchbook from the start, and as I navigated around this site, I liked the tips and articles that you shared. So I decided to get your book to learn more and improve my skills and signed up 🙂

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with everyone 😀
