I am from Pennsylvania, USA. I am 51.
I just love brining a memory or image to paper to never be forgotten.
I stumbled upon the blog while searching perspective ellipse.
I’ve been studying on my own for quite some time I’m hoping to fill in the gaps that I am missing being self-taught.
Thank you for this blog it seems to be packed with great info!
“I just love brining a memory or image to paper to never be forgotten.”
Love what you just said. Some people do it through writing, you do with creating pictures. 🙂
I am from Michigan, USA.
I just turned 50 today!
I would like to start urban sketching or plein air painting but as of right now I can’t draw what I am looking at so I’d like to learn how to draw.
Your page came up on my Google feed as something I might be interested in and so I clicked to check it out!
My main problem I can’t grasp is perspectives. I feel like I could get better at drawing most objects if I really practice but I don’t understand how to get perspectives correctly.
Hi Tawnya,
The Designer Starter Kit will definitely help you get started with perspective.
It covers 1 and 2-points perspective. Follow step-by-step instructions to draw your first cubes with confidence.
Design sketching all start from here. 🙂
Cheers,
Chou-Tac

I’m Rene,38 from Lubbock Texas. I am a seasoned artist but I have only recently started trying to draw from my imagination. I believe learning to sketch properly will help increase my skill level. I found the blog in my search for online resources for artists.
Hi Rene,
Yes it will definitely help you level up like crazy 🙂
You will see, the more you learn, the more your imagination will show on paper.

Hello, my name is Maggs, I’m 32 years old. I’m a Panamanian architect and soon to be industrial designer. I have always wanted to draw freely and quickly, so I looked for online courses and tips to do so. I would like to represent my ideas better. I found out this blog a couple of years ago in social media, but forgot about it until now. It’s time for me now to practice and have fun. Thank you so much for creating this platform!
Hi Maggs!
Glad you are back on the blog :))
Anytime if you have a question or any problem you face, feel free to let me know 🙂
My name is Paula, I’m from South America and I am in my early thirds.
For my entire life I wanted to learn how to draw, but I always thought i didn’t have “talent“. Well, I picked up this old dream of my and I’m putting my whole mind to it.
There’s a really good yt channel that I found recently that recommended your blog.
Thank you!
Hi Paula,
We can all draw. As my friend Renata says: If you can write, you can draw!
The rest is all about learning how to observe. That can be learned 🙂
If you want, I talk about this here: https://www.thedesignsketchbook.com/the-myth-of-innate-talent/
Btw, may I know the name of the YT channel who has recommended my blog?
Thank you!

I come from Serbia. I’m 22.
I want to realise some ideas and learn some techniques of sketching.
I stumbled upon your youtube video.
I am facing difficulties to make a quality sketch and highlight important details.
I want to learn how to create perspective of certain elements and understand the sketching process itself.
Hi Mihailo,
When you draw yes it is about technique, but first of all observation.
To get better at drawing details, a great trick is to practice drawing them BIG.
You can see here an example of Amy, one of my students: https://www.thedesignsketchbook.com/struggling-at-drawing-details-draw-them-big-tip-165/
