Eu sou do Brasil, e quero aprimorar e aprender mais sobre design. A artes me fascinam
I am glad to accompany you on your learning design journey Gabriele 🙂
I’m from central California and have an interest in urban design. My goal is to design walkable people friendly city spaces.
I have always been interested in industrail design.
I’m from Japan.
The reason I want to learn sketching is because I want to be a product designer.
Thank you for sharing these awesome books for free. I’m from Myanmar. I always interested in art since I was a kid but didn’t get the chance to study it because of various reasons. Now I’m nineteen and I again want to persuade my long ignored hobby. I want to study fashion design and your videos and books helped a lot.
I saw your Youtube tutorial
ola a todos. sou do brasil.
Hi, I got my BA in 2010 at the age of 50. For my final project I wrote a short story and illustrated it. I had taken a few art classes with the hopes that I would learn to draw. No such luck.
Still trying, still plugging away at learning how to draw.

I’m taking an animation degree and was referred to your book. I caught a glimpse on how to sit while sketching, so from there I’m already excited.

Hi 🙂 hailing all the way from Denmark. I´m getting into portrait drawing and I was hoping to learn how to draw, rotate and slice a 2 point perspective sphere from all angles (as it is the basis of sketching the head from all angles). I know I can just try and eye ball it but I´m a chronic overthinker and I want to know how to do it right haha 😉
Hi Stefan,
I like your expression of a Chronic overthinker.
You can find multiple videos talking about spheres in the blog.
I share below with you 2 methods.
The simple one:

The more advance with XYZ axis:

Happy sphere sketching!

Hello I am from Montreal Canada, I’ve been sketching on and off for a while but more often these days as my kids have gone away now. I’m seeing that sketching for longer periods of time, my shoulder begins to get soar after while so I was looking for the ergonomically correct way to position myself and came across your site. Also I will take a look at your book I’m sure I’ll learn something. Thank you
Hi Daniel,
Yah, these days, it is better to rest if you feel any pain from your injury – so you would heal faster.
You are right, a body posture will help you long run to draw longer sessions.
Have you seen this article about the shoulder postion?
https://www.thedesignsketchbook.com/how-to-correct-your-curved-lines
It is about one of my students, Jasper who was drawing with a shoulder positioned too high.
Whenever he tried to draw straight lines, they appeared curvy.
To fix this, he just needs to fix his desk and chair height.
For example, I liked my desk and chair set up by IKEA

Hope it helps!

Hey,
I am a Mechanical engineer, I like solving problems. But I want to explore my career in the Industrial design field. I am hoping that the materials provided by you will guide me.
I also hope you will find valuable content on the blog during your journey Deep.
You said you like solving problems, that’s definitely the quality number 1 of a designer! 🙂
