  • I just started with this blog tutorials and it’s really fascinating for anyone that wants learn how to sketch from scratch

  • NC, USA, 39,
I like to repurpose junk and turn it into useful products for myself to use. I spend to much time realizing after days of trying my ideas are flawed. Hoping if I can draw it I won’t waste so much of myself being a failure and maybe just once have an idea, have the materials and with a planned sketch actually do something right. Perspective grids make sense but drawing the thing on the grid doesn’t. Can’t even get a box to go right after hours and hours and so many videos. I googled PDF download on product design perspective

    • Hello Chris,

Hope you find plenty of techniques and tips that will help your students.

Feel free to print the Designer Starter Kit for them if you think it can help them during your class.

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • Hello
    I’m from France aged 64.
Although I used to be a graphic designer/art director I don’t feel “fluent” with sketching .
Lately i’ve been doing pottery and I really feel the need to sketch my designs before working with clay. I would like to be able to sketch my ideas with different point of vues.

    • Coucou Ariane,

      Comment ca va?

Glad you mentioned the term “fluent” about sketching as it is also a language we use to communicate. 🙂

      A bientot!

    2) I want to learn how to sketch to help with seeing in 3d and breaking down images into simple forms first for prop for creature character design.
    3) I discovered from the YouTube channel description from watching a design sketch video.

Bonus: the problem I have is being unable to transform 2d images into 3d forms. I’d like to build up my 3d visualizing skills.

  • I come from south africa and 19 years old. I really enjoy sketching as I find it as another way of expressing your emotions and also showing how you personally see the world from your point of view.

    • Hi Nqobile,

      Love your name!
It is the first time I see it.

That is a wise approach to art and design that I fully agree with you.
We feel good when we draw. And we tell stories with emotion through our lines.

      🙂

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • Kansas, 57
Teacher who uses art in most every activity.
Also getting a little older and noticing a decline in fine motor skills…since I love drawing especially just basic shapes and designs I want to learn to do so in a structured way.
I don’t remember how I came across your site. I think I was just Googling one day and came across your site. I really like your style of teaching.

    • Hello Amy,

That is great you are noticing your motor skills change.
Most people do not, and even if they do notice, won’t do anything to change the curve.

With practice, it will be all fine.
You make me realise that practicing drawing is somehow like going to gym regularly.

      See you!
