  • I’m from the U.S., I like the blog and want to get the free e-book from you, but it never comes to my e-mail. Yes I looked in all folders including spam, but don’t see any e-book from here. I’ve been drawing for years, but look to find new things all the time and that’s how I found this also. Please send me the e-book if u can

    • Hi Gino,

Did you well receive the book? 🙂
I have just sent you an email with the book.

Hope you find plenty of new drawing techniques and beyond on the blog.

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • North Carolina USA
I want to learn in order to create better paintings
I discovered the blog by searching How to Draw ellipses, im taking an art class currently
My shapes are off and I’m not good at drawing
Learning all i can to perfect my drawing and sketching practices

    • Hello Ms Zulma

That is great you learn better drawing for better paintings.
That will definitely help you level up!

If you learn how to draw with a 3 dimension approach (such as product design techniques),
you will be able to create your own painting without reference for example.

  • Hello my name is Mariana Hensley I’m from Texas! I’m teaching myself how to draw and sketching is harder than I thought I discovered this on Pinterest

    • Hi Marlena,

      How is Texas?
If one day I move to the US, I may think of Texas.
People tell me great things about it.
But I have never been myself. (I only went to Cali, Boston, NY)

Glad you discover my drawings on Pinterest.
I hope you find tutorials you like on the blog!

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • I’m from the PNW in the USA, I’m almost 30 years old now.

I want to learn to sketch figures, characters, and scenery/environments. Especially figures & characters though.

I’m discovered this all through YouTube.

The problems I’m facing are fist of all consistency in practice. I struggle to build the habit of drawings because I’m scared of failure.
From the blog I would like to learn how to draw fundamental shapes and forms, and how I can improve my general line accuracy in both traditional and digital media (pencil paper & tablet PC).

    • Hi Gabriel,

Yah I understand the feeling of fear of failure.

To counter this, you may think of which is more scary:
Fear of failure? or Fear of regret for not trying?

At the end of the day, you will realise you have everything to gain, nothing to lose at trying 🙂

Plus, by training with the right techniques, you will for sure do progress.
And the happiness you will feel for every small victory will give you the courage and motivation to keep going.
I’m not saying you won’t face frustration at all, but sometimes you will, and you will see them as challenges to tackle!

By the way I wrote a blog article I have just published about how to draw daily:
      https://www.thedesignsketchbook.com/draw-your-way-to-happiness-9-tips-to-make-art-a-daily-habit/

      Hope it helps! 🙂
      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • Hi. I’m Liana. I’m 58 and I live in British Columbia, Canada (the heart of the Rockie mountains). I discovered you on YouTube when I was searching for lessons. Thank you for your wonderful channel.
I’ve been practicing drawing and watercolour for four years now. I am very pleased with my progress but lately I am just not making time!
My biggest struggle is still perspective and proportion.
    Thank you for asking

  • Hi! My name is Tanja and I’m from Serbia. It looks so easy watching you drawing so I would like to give it a try. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Bye!

    • Hello Tanja,

That’s a great compliment. Thank you.
It reminds me a Philosophy teacher who gave us the example of a ballerina.
The day she performs amazingly, is when people feel that it looks so easy.

You kind message reminds me this, even though I am a very bad dancer!
      Hehe.

Hope you will learn plenty of tips and techniques in the blog. 🙂

      Cheers,
      Chou-Tac

  • Hello. I am Elena and I am from Greece. I am a graphic designer. I am over 40 and I would like to learn to draw as an extra skill.
I can not recall how I found you in the first place.
A problem I am facing is that I lost my fluency in drawings. Any help is really important and appreciated.
    Thank you.
